Our company has won a tender for supplying of a three-storey administrative building for the French energy company AREVA. AREVA is one of three companies competing in the tender for the expansion of the Temelín nuclear power plant. Areva is a French state corporation, whose activities are focused on nuclear energy. The French company gave priority to our company mainly thanks to references regarding deliveries for other energy companies, such as Exxon Mobil and ČEZ. However, it mainly decided on our company to satisfy the demanding requirements of customers from the energy sector and to demonstrate our sophisticated production facilities with an emphasis on management of slim production. In the final round, Areva selected from among four companies, French leasing company Algeco, French modular development specialist company Yves Cougnaud, British company Portakabin and our company.
The building itself consists of ten-metre modules, which enable development of social spaces in the entire span of ten metres without braces. The individual modules and the entire building are constructed for the external weather conditions in the aggressive coastal environment. Greater fire resistance is also of course part of the design. Each module has a sloped roof, which will save the investor costs for acquiring a secondary sloped roof. The cladding of the entire building will be carried out with the help of aluminium composite panels.
The administrative building will be located in a closely guarded premises for recycling of nuclear waste. Therefore, we must fulfil strict safety criteria. In conclusion, we should point out that we will supply the entire building including furnishings as a general supplier directly without a French mediator. The building will be completed and transferred to Areva for use in October.
