Extension of Holiday Inn Hotel on the Roof, Žilina, SK

The hotel extensi­on is unusu­al main­ly due to its pla­ce­ment on the roof. Ano­ther exam­ple of the vari­a­bi­li­ty of the KOMA sys­tem is the fact that the extensi­on was first used as a rela­xati­on cen­t­re for under 17 foot­ballers pla­y­ing in the UEFA Euro­pe­an Cham­pi­on­ships in Žili­na. Now the con­ta­i­ners are used as a con­gress hall. The pho­to­gra­phs show that althou­gh the con­ta­i­ners are stan­dard ones, the look of the­ir inte­ri­or is modern and they are equip­ped with sta­te-of-the-art tech­no­lo­gy. The walls are pro­vi­ded with gyp­sum board and wood clad­ding. The cei­lings are clad with suspen­ded gyp­sum board cei­ling panels. Hot water hea­ting is con­nec­ted to the hotel hea­ting system.
